By using this website for any purpose, including booking a service or repair for your vehicle, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to abide by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, you must not use any of the services offered on our website.
These Terms apply to your use of the website operated by Windscreen Compare Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”).
Windscreen Compare operates an online comparison and booking platform that connects customers with independent vehicle glass repair technicians.
We may update these Terms at any time without notice. The latest version will always be available on our website.
The website’s content is for informational purposes only and does not constitute technical advice related to your vehicle.
Windscreen Compare acts as a comparison and booking service that connects customer requests for vehicle glass repairs and replacements with independent technicians.
Windscreen Compare does not carry out repairs directly.
We maintain a network of independent technicians across the United Kingdom who specialise in vehicle glass repairs and replacements.
Windscreen Compare facilitates bookings between customers and technicians but does not provide repair services itself.
We are not responsible for:
the workmanship of technicians
the parts used during repairs
delays caused by technicians
the outcome of any repair services
We are not a party to any disputes between technicians and customers.
We do not guarantee that a booking will be honoured by a technician.
Any agreement for repair services is directly between the customer and the technician performing the work.
To make a booking, you must:
Be at least 18 years old
Provide accurate details including:
Vehicle make
Model
Registration number
Service location
Preferred appointment time
Requested service
Quotes generated on the platform rely on vehicle information supplied by the customer and data obtained from third-party vehicle databases.
Windscreen Compare will notify a technician of your booking request.
If the booking is accepted, confirmation will be sent via email or SMS.
Windscreen Compare may assist in resolving booking issues but cannot guarantee a resolution.
Payment may be made directly to the technician where the “pay on completion” option is selected.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that the information provided during booking is accurate and complete.
Right to Refuse Service
Windscreen Compare reserves the right to refuse or cancel bookings where we reasonably believe that:
fraudulent activity may be involved
inaccurate or misleading information has been provided
the requested service cannot be safely performed
a user has previously breached these Terms.
Quotes generated through Windscreen Compare rely on information supplied by the customer, including the vehicle registration number and vehicle specifications obtained from third-party databases.
Customers must ensure that all vehicle information provided during booking is correct and complete.
If the vehicle specification differs from the booking details — including but not limited to:
sensors
cameras
heated windscreens
acoustic glass
heads-up display windscreens
alternative glass specifications
the technician may provide a revised quote before work proceeds.
Windscreen Compare does not guarantee the accuracy of vehicle data obtained from third-party sources.
Safety Requirements
Technicians may refuse to carry out work where the environment or vehicle condition presents a safety risk.
This may include situations such as:
unsafe parking locations
severe weather conditions
structural damage to the vehicle
aggressive or unsafe behaviour.
Where work cannot proceed for safety reasons, a call-out fee may apply.
Windscreen Compare may offer various payment methods including:
Credit or debit cards (Visa, Mastercard)
Klarna (subject to Klarna’s terms)
Other payment methods at our discretion
By providing payment details, you confirm that:
you are authorised to use the payment method
the information provided is accurate
We may conduct authenticity checks and involve law enforcement if fraud is suspected.
Refunds and disputes regarding payment terms must be handled with your payment provider or credit issuer.
If you cancel your booking and cannot reschedule, a refund may be issued minus a £48 cancellation fee.
The cancellation fee covers administrative costs, payment processing fees, and the loss of the reserved technician appointment.
If cancellation occurs after the technician has been dispatched or arrives at the agreed location, the cancellation may be treated as a missed appointment, and the full payment may be retained.
Refunds will be processed using the original payment method.
If you fail to attend the appointment, the vehicle is not accessible, or the service cannot proceed due to incorrect information provided during booking, the full payment may be forfeited.
Due to the competitive pricing offered through the Windscreen Compare platform, a call-out fee of £29 may apply where a technician attends an appointment but is unable to complete the service.
This may include situations where:
incorrect vehicle information was provided
the vehicle is not accessible
the customer is not present
installation cannot proceed safely
undisclosed vehicle features prevent installation
The call-out fee covers technician travel, scheduling, and inspection time.
Where a second visit is required to complete or re-inspect an installation, a second visit fee of £68 may apply.
This may occur where:
specialist glass or parts must be ordered
installation cannot be completed on the first visit
vehicle systems require inspection after adhesive curing
additional work is required due to inaccurate booking information
Customers will not be charged the second visit fee where the return visit is required due to:
technician error
incorrect parts supplied by the technician
installation faults covered by the technician’s workmanship warranty.
For certain windscreen bookings, additional charges may apply including:
new windscreen mouldings (£30+ if the original moulding cannot be reused)
specialty glass such as acoustic or solar glass
larger vehicle windscreens (e.g., vans, trucks, 4×4 vehicles)
heads-up display windscreens
calibration of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS)
out-of-hours service requests
Where possible, customers will be informed of additional charges before work proceeds.
Vehicle glass availability is subject to stock levels and distribution logistics.
Certain vehicles may require specialist glass that must be ordered.
Where parts must be ordered, an additional appointment may be required to complete the installation.
Following windscreen installation, adhesives require a minimum safe drive-away time to properly cure.
Customers must follow all instructions provided by the technician regarding when the vehicle can be safely driven.
Windscreen Compare shall not be responsible for issues arising from failure to follow these instructions.
Modern vehicles may include electronic components attached to the windscreen including:
rain sensors
light sensors
lane assist cameras
driver assistance cameras
heads-up display systems
Technicians will reconnect these components where applicable, however Windscreen Compare cannot guarantee that vehicle electronic systems will operate exactly as they did prior to the repair.
Some vehicles may require manufacturer calibration or specialist diagnostic work after installation.
Chip repairs are not always successful.
There is a risk that the windscreen may crack during the repair process.
If a crack occurs, a full windscreen replacement may be required and additional costs will apply.
If insurance is used, any excess already paid may be deducted from the replacement cost.
Vehicles equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) may require calibration after windscreen replacement.
Where possible, technicians will attempt calibration using available equipment.
If calibration cannot be completed, customers may need to arrange calibration separately at their own cost.
Appointment times are estimates and may be affected by traffic, previous jobs, weather conditions, and parts availability.
Technicians will make reasonable efforts to attend appointments at the scheduled time but exact arrival times cannot be guaranteed.
Windscreen Compare is not liable for:
failures or delays by technicians
defects in repair services
misleading conduct by technicians
losses caused by technicians failing to comply with consumer laws
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Windscreen Compare’s liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the booking.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence where such exclusion is not permitted by law.
Consumer Rights
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any consumer rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Customers retain all statutory rights relating to services provided by technicians.
If a customer initiates a payment chargeback or dispute without first contacting Windscreen Compare to attempt resolution, Windscreen Compare reserves the right to submit booking records, communications, technician reports, and these Terms to the payment provider as evidence.
If a chargeback is determined to be invalid, Windscreen Compare reserves the right to recover administrative costs.
